ORGANIZED 1984

East Ridge Baptist was established on Aug. 18, 1984 as Fellowship Baptist Church. The initial pastor was Bob Galloway. A house, in the community, was rented and services held for almost two years; ave. attendance 19-26. The current location/building was started July, 1986. When pastor Galloway resigned in 1989, Carson Newman sent weekly speakers till a new pastor was elected July, 1990. On Easter Sunday, April, 1992 the first services were held upstairs in the new sanctuary. The name was changed May, 1992, to East Ridge Baptist Church and the debt was paid off Nov. 1994. The Tennessee Baptist Volunteer Brick Team, bricked the church in Oct. 1996. The church dedication was held Sept. 2004 after all improvements were completed. Rev.
