ORGANIZED 1950

The Baptist of the Friends Station Community met the first Sunday of August, 1950. They agreed to meet and organize a Missionary Baptist Church on Oct. 29, 1950. New Hope Baptist Church was the chosen name with 36 charter members. The Rev. Oscar Mills was elected the first pastor. The block building was built and paid for the first year. A second building was dedicated in 1976....with NO debt! Eleven pastors have faithfully served the church.
