ORGANIZED 1933

The Swans Chapel Baptist Church "newly organized" was admitted into the Jefferson County Baptist Association in 1933. Pastor J. C. Hopkins reported a membership of 23. The church met on the third Sunday for preaching services. Meeting in the school house, the church organized with nine charter members. The church worships today in its third building seating 350. The second building was converted into an educational space. A pastorium is on site. Fifteen men have served faithfully as pastors.
